As I peer through the tall window
I see a gray and dull thick cloud
Of fog and gloom that seems to grow
And covers all in its huge shroud.

From where I am high in the sky
The heaven seems to be so near.
And if I could distance defy
I'd be by you and your love dear.

This morning I so long for you,
At this hour you may be asleep.
My loving heart goes out for you,
That's what I have for you to keep.

The fog outside won't cloud my mind
To all the love I have for you.
Inside my heart there is sunshine
