To a Nameless Person

Anh Duy

Where have you been all these long years,
To let my Muse dry up in tears?
What have you been hiding behind,
To drive my self out of its mind?

I could've written tons of books
To tell the world about your looks,
And fain traveled thousands of miles
To sing the praises of your smiles.

Why does the world go round so fast,
And not let me see you at last?
And you that God endows with grace
Will you e'er let me see your face?

Where do your steps lead you from here?
Will you write books on someone dear?
Or will you walk your merry way,
And never know what's in your sway?
